Kansas City is a metropolitan area located in both Kansas and Missouri. The area is served by several area codes, including 816, 913, and 680. Area code 816 covers most of the Missouri side of Kansas City, while area code 913 serves the Kansas side of the city, along with eastern Kansas. Area code 680 is an overlay code that serves the same areas as 913.
